Write an essay analyzing in detail a code or slang which is not an official or standard language. The essay must include a description of the language’s grammar and vocabulary, giving at least 5 examples of each. Then describe the social or culture context of this particular code or slang. Who uses or understands this language? What practical purpose does this codes serve for it’s speakers/users, or for the greater society? Survey 5 individuals who use this code and analyze the responses in the essay. Examples of a non-standard code would be body language, Spanglish, American Sign Language, a professional jargon, or a particular language used on the Internet or other communication technology.
